Shahab Azinmehr
Born in Tehran in 1985, Shahab Azinmehr is an Iranian vocalist, tar and setar player, composer, and researcher specialising in Persian classical music. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Restoration of Historical Monuments and a master’s degree in Persian Music Performance.
He began his musical journey as a vocalist before studying the tar and setar under distinguished masters including Mohammad Musavi, Dariush Talâ’i, Mas’ud Sha’âri, Behruz Hemmati, and Rezâ Parvizzade.
As both a singer and instrumentalist, Azinmehr has performed internationally in numerous concerts, festivals, and recording projects. He is a member of the Orpheus XXI ensemble under the direction of Maestro Jordi Savall, with whom he has toured extensively.
His principal recordings and artistic projects include the setar solo album Showq-e Mastur, Sineh be Sineh, and the MEHRNAVAA project, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the performance, research, and dissemination of Persian classical music.
